I want to install a downpipe along with a cat-delete and cat-back. One question...what do i do with the second o2 sensor? do i relocate it, or what do i do? thanks

Theres still a rear o2 sensor bung in the cat back exhaust, since your running no cat you should run one of these to keep it from throwing a CEL. o2 sensor extension

:dsm:

The CATBACK exhaust you BUY will have a bung to INSERT your rear o2 sensor IN IT, so thats where you'd put the extension then you put in your rear o2 sensor in it. You can run your o2 sensor straight into the exhaust WITHOUT the extension but then a CEL will appear since your WON'T be running a CAT.

that method will not work...

Ok... the method does work... but that ebay one will NOT.

What you need is this:

Get Spark Plug Non Fouler Available at your local automotive store. (comes in a set of 2)
Spark Plug Non Fouler PN 42009 (18mm) ($4.99)

well this is what i did:
1. You now need to drill out 1 of the non foulers using a 1/2" drill bit.
2. then install o2 Sensor in the modified non fouler (the one you drilled out)
3. install the Second, unmodified non fouler on modified non fouler

so its should be.... Original non fouler->Modified non fouler->o2 sensor>pipe

the reason i see this ebay one not working is it's only selling you the 1 single non fouler when you need 2 to do the job.
and you're waisting money getting just one for the price of two plus shipping... doesn't make sense

WTF W.T.F are you talking about? That thing is just an EXTENSION to keep the CEL from coming on without running a CAT. Why would you need (2) to do it right and what the hell is the fouler/non fouler crap? That stuffs for spark plugs. That eBay extension does the same thing except you DON'T have to modify it because its MADE for your o2 sensor.

:dsm:

the ebay object is just a single non fouler. you insert the non fouler into the o2 bung to take the senser away from the exhaust gasses. too short of a fouler (using one) will do nothing for your car to lose the CEL. using two will spread the sensor even farther away (using a cat delete or a high-flow cat you need the sensor farther away from the smoke). drilling the one out allows the inside of the sensor to build up smoke while the unmodified sensor lets small amounts in to be read. the o2 sensor goes off of tiny variables and needs to read correct settings as if it is still stock. Now since your exhaust is not stock... with a cat delete it is not even legal... to avoid a CEL you will need an o2 sensor simulator. if you are not worried about the CEL, by all means... forget i posted at all. Good luck to you.

BTW: that ebay one is a UNIVERSAL!!!! Need i say more? Were not in the honda forums where everything magically works and looks cool.

In my personal experience and I'm running that EXACT o2 sensor extension on my cat delete setup and had no CEL appear. You will fail your visual emissions check but as far as the ECU's concerned the CAT will be there and working by running one of those.

I guess Becka has had a different experience with these things though, maybe mines unique to my situation so you might want a third opinion?

:dsm:

i think it more depends maybe on the mix of ecu+engine with a mix of what size exhaust you are running. i could be wrong, and it may not go for the $G63T... but on the 420A thats the way to do it.

I wrapped mine in aluminum foil and placed it back in the stock location 7 years ago and I've never had a CEL.

id save your money and see if by any chance it doesn't throw a cel. i doubt it wont but you never know. if it does... then look into getting the universal o2 bypass on ebay for $6.44 + @2.39 S&H... or just get the set of sparkplug nonfoulers i listed for $4.99 from your local autoparts store. Try with just the one in drive a few hundred miles... if the code returns... put the second one in like i said.

i don't care if you use one or both or none... just saying, the universal thing off ebay... can you honestly trust anything saying universal? and save your money. You'l be paying 9 bucks for one when you can pay 5 and get 2... for something that may not work or even be needed for your application. Save yourself the 4 bucks... that's half an hours worth of work right there.

you can buy a simulator that you screw your o2 sensor into then zip tie it out of the way and the simulator tricks the sensor into thinking it is getting a good reading

100% YES. Its universal because ALL o2 sensors are threaded the same, ALL o2 sensors or in other words universal even eBay.

You can buy a simulator, or even make one if you want. In my car DIY experiences you can buy something mechanical (like the extender) and it will never fail or buy something electric (like the simulator) which is a resistor and it can last forever or a week. Thats your decision, the extender is a hassle free one stop shop that will prevent a CEL from appearing when you take the CAT off any car.

For the OP, be sure you use the gray anti seize on the threads of the extender AND on the actual o2 sensor doing the install.
