I have a 96gsx with a 91-92 6bolt. Bought the car with swap done. If the CAS is not rewired will the ecu pull timing in the upper RPMs (say 4k up) to the point the car stands still? Also i read something about injector timing on the RRE site. can this cause a MAJOR power loss if they are not rewired?

What exactly do you mean "rewired?" Either it's wired in correctly and the engine runs or it's wired in wrong and you sputter and miss a lot.

my friend had it wired correctly and at about 4k it would pull timing to -4 and everything was all fuct up....we tried so much crap to get that thing to run good and nothing worked.....im convinced a 6 bolt isnt worth it on a 2ga

i dont have a logger to monitor my timing but i am almost positive that its getting pulled. Your friends car sounds like mine....NO POWER IN UPPER RPMs!!!!!!!! There has to be a fix.

Okay, if you're using a 1g CAS-which you should be-all you have to do is follow RRE instrcutions. I used their CAS plug-n-play, found here: http://roadraceengineering.com/newproducts.htm. If not, then follow their CAS wiring diagram, found here: http://roadraceengineering.com/1gcasin2g95-96.htm.

The reason people say to use DSMlink when doing this swap is because of the CAS inversion option... which allows you to not have to do all the wiring with the ECU itself. I have both RRE's plug-n-play and DSMlink and have ZERO probelms with my swap. DSMlink is amazing in itself, so save some money and buy both of these! Made my life WAY easier! :thumb: :dsm:

just for the record, and not to discourage you 240kid, but my friend had dsmlink as well and that still didnt help...very few seem to have this problem though so the odds are in your favor

so having the plug and play option from RRE or having a custom harness wont mess up dsmlink? My problem is that I dont know what the orignal owner of the car did as far as wiring the CAS.
