Did the 2G come with cargo nets from the factory? If so, does anyone have any pictures of how they look in the car? I'm just curious. Never seen one in a 2G but it looks like there's hook for one.

Yes they came with cargo nets, I have one in my car but for some reason I have zero pics of it. I would take a picture of it but my car is in storage now.

EDIT: They were more likely an option but I'm pretty sure they all have the hooks for the net from factory.

Not sure if they came from the factory but they were available for sure as I've had them on all three of my 2gs.

I have the net. I could probably get a photo for you. Give me a few minutes.

Most of the time, I don't have it in my car though. The mesh is so big that most of the stuff I'd want in there just gets tangled.

EDIT:
Here are the photos.

I'll have to look at my window sticker and see if it says anything about the cargo net.
EDIT 2: A cargo net isn't listed on my window sticker anywhere, so I can't confirm that it came with it from factory, but I suspect that it did.

Oh, definitely ordering one now. I throw all kinds of small misc stuff in my trunk that bounces around. Does anyone know the mitsu part number?

Whats that little plastic box to the right on your trunk? Mine doesn't have that. It looks like a little storage compartment

I would like to know where to get one too.

I don't know the part number, but JNZTuning lists it for $26.33.

Just enter something like a 97 Mitsu Eclipse in for the car and search for "net". It's the only thing listed.

I have a 96 gsx and it has the cargo net, surprisingly i still have the original
diamond care owner's manual that came with the car, and it lists the luggage
net on page 97, and nowhere does it say optional. It came from the factory,
and if you have the hooks for it then at one time the car had the net.

Did you try to get one from a dealer or just assume it has been discontinued?

Yeah they really dont work that great....Just scratched the hell out of my trim pieces when i had stuff in the net

You're probably better off just getting a small plastic tote and sticking stuff in it.

I usually keep jumper cables, a few basic tools, and a tarp in the space between the spare tire and the fiberboard cover. The fire extinguisher has grippy feet, so it doesn't move. And most other things I place back there are free to slide at will (but usually don't).

All three of my TSi AWD's have had one. Neither ESi I owned did. I'm not sure if a previous owner of the ESi's just took them out, or if they did not come with the lower end models...

Both my GS and my GSX had one. Looks like I lost both of them. Ive seen a few at my local junk yards that still had them in.

I don't see what the big deal is.
They don't work well at all.
But here is a picture of the one I have, that is mint and I never use it.ROFL

Since I now know, it is a sought after item.
It is going in the classifieds.

This thread is a few months old...

It's not really a "sought after" item for our cars considering you can buy them new from JNZtuning for 26.33.

I don't think you're gonna get 50 out of yours.

The cargo net is the best part of any car. I always snag them up when I see them.

I got mine from Meat. Like 15$ shipped, good luck on your 50$ asking price.
Hold on I seriously didn't realize, that you could buy one for 26 dollars.
I was totally joking, about the people don't search etc.
I am honest and as soon as I finished my last post, I edited my add to 25 dollars.
