Well, I wrote something long but didnt select a prefix, so the forum gave me an error and wiped out what I wrote.
Short version now.
Trying to gain some low end with the Cyclone manifold. On 1G mani and dual runner "cyclone" with butterflies open I used to run evo8mod1 under 1.2load across the board then blend into my adjustments for boost. Zero knock.
Actuated below 4k rpm and I've had to pull 4-5 degrees by reverting back to the 2G timing table and add a full point of fuel in DA just to keep it out of knock. After 4k, butterflies open, everything is fine again.
Since I've remedied 99% of the knock by doing this I know it's not PK -- but what the hell? Is the evo8 table just too aggressive for the cyclone intake charge? Am I status quo and just asking too much or does somebody have good timing in spool and this guy working, solenoid or wastegate actuated..
