2G Carbonetics AB Hood (Pictures)

Bobby how did you mount the bottom part of the aerocatch? Or did you not use it at all?

I started on the passengerside and have the top part cut out and flush. Holes drilled for the screws and they actually tighten down.

But the bottom part I don't see how I'll ever get it to sit flat to use it.

Can you post a picture of the underside of the hood so I see how it's supposed to look etc.

Did you use the same bolt hole on the radiator mount on the driverside?
I did so that means it puts the catch a tad over to 1 side but honestly it works and i dont notice it,

It does looks nice in red and the black vents

Should go well with my rear diffuser layover from carbonetics.

And if I end up raising my car to fit wider tires. I'll probably do some sort of ground effects which would also be black as well.

Ordered it April 12th - said it would be 4-6 weeks build time for fiberglass.

(12-16 for carbonfiber for those wondering)

It finally arrived July 19th. I realize they were probably busy getting ready for "MOD"
Building there widebody eclipse. Which probably caused the delay.

Ran into an issue today while buttoning up the car.

I had the front bumper off as I was doing work in the car besides the hood. And when I put it all back together the front of the hood is like 2" short..... it lines up perfectly in the back jusy not the front. And since I already cut out the aerocatch latches and where I mounted the studs. There isn't anyways to jusy slide the hood forward.
(Sorry for bad pict. I cracked the lens on my phone)

Any chance of fixing it? I'm considering picking up the same hood soon so I'm interested.

Just another picture. Cracked the lens on my phone so quality isn't great.

Also heard back from Sergio, said I'm the 1st customer to have fitment issues. Took me sending a video swapping my stock hood to there hood to prove it to him.
I don't have a clear answer yet as to what's going to be done yet.

Well he has trust issues but the proboem if we dont trust him! And because he has so many issues and still outdated parts to be sent out, i wont uze his parts or him ever because he cannot seem to mould stuff correctly

Not hood related but I just got confirmation that my CSL carbon hatch shipped out last night. Communication with Sergio was good, until about the last two weeks. A lot of "spotty" responding on our back and fourth about my hatch being picked up by the freight company.

I will post my review when my hatch arrives.

Update - although Sergio orginally claimed there isn't a fitment issue with his AB hood and that I'm the first person to have this issue. After sending him a video of me with my stock hood bolted on and then bolting up his hood to prove the fitment issue, so I asked for a new hood, and he now claims there is a fitment issue and that there won't me any reason to send me a new one because they all come from the same mold. So if that's the case, then.
It will have to be fixed by a professional shop material will have to be added to the front so that it's long enough, as well as to the sides so that it follows the same curve as the fenders.

So he continues to sell and make them from his bad mold! This is exsctly why i wont ever buy from him! And when i found out he make the AB aero kit, i would never touch that kit in my life! No offense to AB but he picked a real bad guy when it comes to low quality work! Which ruins names for the designer like AB!

If i was you i would zend it back and get refund on his dollar! I could not out up with that bodge job and gaps at all!

Slowwhite your statement above makes zero sense to me. Not sure if you wrote it quick or not.

So He claims zero fitment issues.
You show there is, with video proof.
He says there is fitment issues now, but your not entitled to compensation of some form?

am I reading through the lines correct.

I inherited Cait Sith's AB hood, complete with shipping damage it received on its way from Carbonetics. Sergio was apologetic about the damage, asked for Tristan's phone number but never got back to him... After waiting for 6+ months, Tristan just used it as is. It looks great (well, it has all the usual fit issues) but corners by the windshield are missing :(. I wouldn't have been as forgiven Tristan was...

Right now, I would love to buy Carbonetics Spyder trunk lid, but I refuse to deal with someone like that...

Ill see about pasting his Facebook messages.

But summary of them:
-I made him aware there is a fitment issue with my hood
-he claimed there is no fitment issues with his hood and that I'm the first person to ever have this issue and then required proof.
-I sent him pictires which weren't good enough, so then I sent him a video of me with my stock hood on, then swapping to his hood showing the gapping issue
-he then agreed there was a fitment issue with my hood, and said he was going to make another one and try it out on there shop 99 gsx to verify fitment
-after a bit of time I never heard back so I messaged him again on the status of my replacement hood.
-he then stated there is a fitment issue with his hood and that the front is different so it doesn't make sense to send me a new one as they are all from the same mold and would be exactly the same as what I have.
-he then added that he wpull make me a video of the tricks they did to install it on there 99 and responded as well with "this is where we'll part ways"
-it's been weeks now and still no video.

As of about 2hrs ago I sent him another message this time stating I need a replay or a refund. And have yet to get an amswer back.

Allow me space to post screen shots of my messages from start to finish with sergio. And you'll see just how long this has been going on.

Bare with me there is months of talking so it'll be a few posts long. And if I miss one or they get out of order (doing my best to make sure there is an overlap on dates etc, so everyone knows I'm not trying to hide anything)
