I've been reading around about wrapping things in carbon fiber looking vinyl. I love the idea of wrapping the grey door inserts to look like cf. I want get a cf looking gauge overlay and I have a "carbon fiber" shift boot and knob. I know I could get the dash kit but I don't really wan the ash tray/cupholder cover or upper vent covers. I want a few carbon fiber accents but not overly cf. I've seen a few ideas like the ash tray I just feel like it looks out of place and mismatched with the black console. I am also unsure about what it would look like if I wrapped my side mirrors. I've searched and searched but I can't find where anyone has done it. If anyone could provide ideas for the interior or pics of wrapped mirrors preferably on a red car it would be greatly appreciated.

They actually have 4D Carbon fiber vinyl now and it almost looks like the real thing.
I swear, they are getting pretty close to the real thing now these days and it's not too long until I'm sure they find the right formula to make "real looking" CF vinyl wrap.

IMO the vinyl looks too perfect. I've yet to see a real carbon part where the weave never changes direction at all.
No way around that tho. Vinyl sheet vs woven cloth.

From what I've seen, the carbon look vinyl costs more then real carbon. I just bought a bunch of twill/harness satin CF for ~$15/yard.
I am getting sick of block sanding my door insert overlays tho. Time to make some real parts. :p

Look into hydrographics. Although it wont be possible to get a shift boot done, you can get some pretty interesting designs, including carbon fiber. For smaller pieces its pretty affordable.

Yea my ex's dad actually owns a hydrographic business but I already have the "carbon" ebay shift boot and knob. As far as the red car goes I've seen the red car I want to see the side mirrors done with pretty much no other carbon on the car. I agree that the vinyl looks close but it's also expensive so I wanna know I'm gonna like the way the mirrors look when I'm done

That might be a difficult request to be honest with you but worth a shot i suppose! bump for hoping you find an example of what you are looking for!
