Car won't turnover after build?

Ok so I just finished my 7 bolt build with 1g rods and 2g pistons from dsmgravayrd, and plenty of other supporting mods. Along with a eprom and dsmlink. After getting everything assembled I jump in the drivers seat hoping it will start for the first time in apprx. 8 months. I turn the key and nothing happens other than the fuel pump kicking on.

The one thing my buddy and I are not sure is one electrical clip that we didnt hook up because he couldnt find where it went. Its a small 1 wire clip that is black with like a brown strip on it. The reason why we couldnt find it was because the wire was broke right after the clip and didnt find any hanging wires when putting together the harness. The clip is right below the thermostat housing if that helps. I'm not sure if this will help the problem with it not cranking over at all but have to start somewhere.

We also broke a ABS sensor on the passenger side but I dont think this will matter with it not turning over either.

Could maybe the starter or starter selenoid froze up while it was sitting? He battery was hooked start up to a charger so it was getting power.

Does the dash light up etc..

Could the broken wire be for your starter solenoid? If you put a bar on the crank pulley does it turn over by hand.

I think if it was seazed and the starter was trying to turn it you would know it!

I think he was talking about the starter siezing up.

This little wire connects to the starter,look carefully in the back by the heavy guage wire ,you gonna see a small single wire connector.The starter will never turn with this wire disconnected .

I'll have to look closer at the starter for this wire. We were there for so long by the time we tried to start it we were sick of working on it, so we didn't look into the reason for too long.

The engine does not crank or turnover at all when the key is turned.

And the dash and everything lights up.

That wire is definitely a problem. redyute1 is dead on, that is the starter engage wire, it will do nothing if its not hooked up.

Other possibilities, The starter power wire is not attached to the battery, or the starter relay is shot as well as a bad starter.

Does anyone have a picture where this wire runs too?...I can't seem to find a place for it. I have the clip from the harness but the wire was chewed or cut and there are no wires hanging.

The starter does have power running to it.

if thats not it i just rebulit my eclipse and went in turned my key... nothing also so i tried tons of different things. it ended up there was some sort of kill switch under my dash and i hit it (not knowing what it was) and still nothing, but for some reason i held it in and turned the key and ta da! it fired right up, idn if this helps you but sure made me feel better

I'm helping with this build. Found the wire which did go to the starter engage wire but now when we turn the key there is only clicking behind the dash. Took the starter out and it checked out fine.

The relays seem to check out fine also.

Does the clutch cut wire have to be hooked up on dsmlink in order to turnover the car or can it be started without tapping into the wire?

The starter relay grounds through the switch you're talking about, check continuity between the black w/ yellow striped wire at the relay and the starter signal engage wire.

Alright I'll have to check the relay again. But the power wire at the starter was getting 11.8 volts so I would think that the relay would be fine. Once the power is hooked up it, it just clicks and buzzes behind the dash when the key is turned.

Maybe the clutch engage switch or somethin broke? I'm lost and getting fed up with the Dsm.
