94 Talon - won't start, won't turnover, no power??

Hi Everyone, I'm new to DSM tuners and I have a problem that i need help with. I looking at buying back my old 94 Talon TSI AWD. When i sold it to a friend of mine about 4 years ago, it didn't run, and needless to say he didn't do anything with it.

Anyway, when it quit on me. I was driving along the highway and it just shut off, like someone turned the key off. When i went to start it back up, there was no power. No dash lights, no relays turning on..nothing. There wasn't any loud noises when it happened, it just shut off and wouldn't even turn over. I know its some sort of electrical problem, but i don't know where to begin. Any help or ideas would be appreciated! thank you in advance. If anyone needs anymore info please let me know. thanks

1: Check all grounds, pull them off and sand down everything the grounds connect too.
2: Check your main fuses and Relays (the fuse box under the hood)
3: Your battery took a Dump and "Exploded" in a sort of way.
4: Check under the hood where the battery is located and look on the underside of the hood to see if there are any burn marks. (if that happened then 1: you blew a main fuse. 2: your ECU took a Shit, 3: your Cables came\ got Fried off.
5ut a different battery in it.
6: Clean the terminals and Terminal Connectors.

thanks for the response. I will try all of that. I haven't gotte the car back yet, but I would like all suggestions for when I do cause I want it running again. I don't recall there being anything wrong with the battery, but i'm not sure either. I was thinking it could be the ignition switch, wouldn't all these symptoms happened if the ignition switch took a crap?? thanks

^x2 - Basically, check all your fuses, relays, and connections. It sounds like maybe your battery just took a shit on you, or you lost a connection somewhere.

No Problem:

I actually had this same problem, and the original cause was the battery arced on the hood because it bounced when I went over some rail road tracks (I forgot to mount it down) and it caused a chain reaction which overloaded the terminal connectors which made my positive terminal connector explode (literally it was in 4 pieces) the Negative terminal wire burned off from the connector, and blew the fuse for the Fuel Pump.

so check the fuses, then get a Sand Sponge (300 Grit is what i used) then sand down everything that should be have a electric connection. (grounds, terminal connectors TERMINALS etc)

P.S: Paint is resistant to Electrical Currents unless its specific to conduct electricity, which car paint isn't. I also highly doubt that your Ignition took a shit, or your ECU is fried. I would try those things VERY LAST!
