Ok, so I just installed my new turbo kit. I had an older 16g turbo on my car already and just replaced it with the same 16g turbo. I changed my blow off valve and replaced some of the piping.

Now for the problem. The car starts, but as soon as you touch the gas it dies, dont have to be in gear, just as soon as its touched, dies. I am at a loss as to what could be causing this problem. HELP!

Any advice is welcomed.

Thank you,
Tyler

I swapped and engine in a honda once, got it all hooked up and it didn't start. I was beside myself. Turns out it was one little ground wire off the battery I forgot.

I would go step by step and double check everything. Could be a vacuum line possibly forgotten to hook up, thats my best guess. There is no reason I can think of other than something like this if you replaced it with the same parts that were on there to begin with.

I would say check all your vacuum lines and grounds. A bad ground could cause issues but a vacuum line in the wrong place will cause wacky issues. I have seen in another thread a washer fluid line connected to the throttle body. Easy fix but was hard to trouble shoot.

i had this happen today, i had to flirt with my foot on the gas to keep it running, as i was driving i figured it out by the stuttering, that an intake coupler had popped off, put it back on tightened the clamp(that was very loose) and was good to go, id check the whole intake for loose couplers... that definately soinds like the problem

Ok, so I was headed home from work, not getting on it at all, and it sounded like my belt had started to go bad. Like a piece had broken on a belt and started to hit my hood. Then it sounded like my belt broke and the car died.

BUT! The belts are fine. Now when you try to start her, all you hear is the starter. The motor doesnt even try to start.

HELP! I have a new engine lined up, but if its easier then that to fix it would be nice!

Does the engine crank? I mean does it just not fire up or will it not crank at all?

I would pull upper timing belt cover and check the timing belt.

And I wouldn't try to turn the motor until you know the timing belt is still intact and tensioned.

+2, before you try to crank it, take the timing cover off and verify it's good. By what you described im guessing your belt broke, hopefully i am wrong...good luck
