Alright. Here is the deal. 1990 talon awd, no real mods, ran perfect yesterday...
A buddy gave me a set of magnacore wires (used) last week and i decided to put them on a few minutes ago. Epic fail. 100% positive they were wired up right, but when i tried to start it after i installed them it idled horribly. Like....300-400 rpm bad.
Figured they were just bad wires so i reinstalled the stock wires...still idled like crap....drove it for a few seconds then check engine light came on...
Parked the car and turned it off.....
Now it just turns over but won't start anymore. I'm about 20 milea from the nearest town.... So.....
Anyone? Help please

Make sure they are plugged in right into the ignition coil as well. If the car was running perfectly then you replaced the wires and its running bad then you put the wires in there wrong. Also make sure they are really pressed down onto the spark-plugs sometimes they might seem like they are but are not on fully.

Did you make sure the car was running fine right before you changed the wires? You said it was fine the day before but how about right before changing them. Ecu's and coil packs usually seem to go pretty quickly and when they do can cause all sorts of problems. Check and make sure you've got power at the coils and check the resistance of the wires. Hell check the plugs and make sure they are good even. It sounds like your problem is a little more involved than just some wires.

well, the problem was more complicated than just some wires....it was me being retarded. When I pulled the stock wires off they were a little tough so when they popped off I think I knocked a connector loose (the big one below where the wires plug into the side of the block). When I drove it around I think that jarred it all the way off.....
Plugged that connector back in and she runs perfect again.
Sorry for the fail, but thanks for all the help.
Once again DSM-tuners has proven to me why this community is the best automotive community I have ever been in, helping quickly at any time, day or night, weekend or not.
Once again, thanks guys. :D

yeah thats a main one i had a simular problem mine turned out to be the cas on the side of the head but that was the first connector i was told to check glayou got fixed in a timely maner

sounds like what my 1990 gs-t did. Turned out it was the ecu that had gone bad. Smell behind the radio to see if you smell an electricall burn frrom the ecu. It has a destinctive smell to it kinda like a fryed speaker. I hope you get her running so you can atleast get back home safe.
