Hey guys so here's the Issue. I drove my car home last night and it drove fine and everything was perfect. I go to start up the car this morning and it wont start. I have verified that there is fuel and spark. It seems like it is flooding on start up. The spark plugs are soaking wet with fuel. I have checked the fuel resister pack and the readings are fine on that. I also took out the ecu to see if there were any burn marks on it at all and there weren't any. Also there is no smell coming from it either. There is also no CEL at all. Is there something that Im missing?

My fuel mods are: Ecmlink v3, 850cc injectors, Rewired walbro 255.

Thanks,

Dave

If the plugs are soaked with fuel, it means they probably aren't firing, despite your test. How long have you been using these plugs and are they the correct plugs? Wires and distributor are okay I take it....

Other then fuel and spark, an engine needs compression and proper timing. Are those spot on as well?

You should have a cel once you turn the car on with out cranking. I would look into the coolant temp sensor if you have spark. It could be registering wrong but still be sending a signal to the ecu without triggering the cel to be on....

I definitely have spark and they are gapped correctly and they are in good condition. The CEL light comes on for a few seconds like it is suppose to and then goes out. I have tried a known good coil pack and that didnt help. I checked for compression and timing and they are perfect also. It just seems like the injectors are going full open on start up and flooding the cylinders.

If you have ECMLink make sure you can connect and get a log. the coolant temp sensor should read the same as the outside air temp is the car has been sitting. If it reads -39F then it going to flood the car.

I know you checked the timing, but my gst did the same thing and it ended up being that my timing belt jumped.

Ok guys I have checked out the coolant temp sensor via dsmlink and it was reading correctly (58 degrees). I tried to start the car after leaving it overnight and it started up for 3 seconds really rough then died out again. Like it flooded the cylinders. Could it be a fuel pressure regulator problem? And if so, how would I go about checking to see if that is working?

Thanks

Dave

um, your first post says you have injectors and a pump....what about an aftermarket AFPR? no AFPR with those two = overran FPR = flood

I have had the stock fpr with the pump and injectors on for over a year with no problems. Why would it all of a sudden cause the flooding out of no where?

bein over-ran for a year, the FPR diaphragm finally gave out would be my guess. i know as soon as i put my rewired 255 in my stock fpr died. did the same thing your describing.

i'm not sure why I got a warning for that post...it has clear meaning, all words are spelled correctly aside from "bein" and I didn't spell out fuel pressure regulator. other than that its 4 complete sentences with very understood subjects...

Ok I guess I can try that. I have a aeromotive I bought a while ago. Ill try that out and see what happens. If anyone else has any suggestions please let me know!

Thanks

Dave

Well I put on the Aeromotive fuel pressure regulator and that did nothing. Im going to try a different ecu but when I pulled out mine I didnt see anything wrong with it. Maybe the part that controls the injectors went on it. Im not sure, its so random that this happened one morning when it was fine the night before.

Thanks

Dave

Have you checked your cas. I had one on its way out wasn't throwing a cell, but was causing the same problems you have described.

I also had a short in my wiring where the ecu wasn't getting power. the easy way to tell is if you turn the ignition to the on position and the check engine light doesn't flicker then the ecu isn't getting power.
