car wont idle but only on a warm start up

car is a 91 gsx, all stock except turbo back and UICP

problem is when i go to start the car shortly after its been running at operating temp it wont idle, so the engine is already warm when this happens. if i throw it in gear and take off next stop it will idle fine. car idles at 700-800 as it should when this problem isnt taking place.

only does it on a warm start up, never a cold start, never mid trip, just start up, start ups with in 30-45 mins of one another

Try replacing your coolant temp sensor on your thermostat housing...It's about $6 from rockauto.com if I remember correctly. When the coolant temp sensor goes bad the ecu doesnt know what fuel enrichment to use on startup which could be your problem.

ok, i cant see it being a boost leak bc it only does it on warm start ups, boost leak would be all the time

coolant temp sensor will be the same hot or cold . if it isnt working right it'll act up on cold starts as well as hot starts. and if your not sure you should def do a boost leak test. are you using anything to log with? it might be helpful in tracking down the problem.

tru tru....gunna def boost leak it anyway....no nothn to log with, like i said stock daily driver....car has 48k on it, i bought it off the orig owner, still has all the factory vac lines, i know there is a diagram somewhere telln u what to delete and what to keep, the vac lines can be a problem i remember people saying
