so i was on the way home from the gas station, car was running good, then all of a sudden the car just jumped and quit. it still ran i think barely for a few secs but when i gave it gas, nothing happend at all. i was thinking i was going to spin a bearing so maybe thats it? it didnt overheat or nothing. not too long before this happend, my oil psi slowly dropped like it usually does but it hasnt done it in a week or so. so, what happend? the car jumped (vibrated, popped, etc.) Please help.

I didnt notice the OP was you. My bad. You shoulda PM'd me. I had a friend w a 1g his battery wasnt tied down and it arcd on the hood. Also the smoke you saw was electralysis. Or a short. I would triple check the connections on the battery both + and - Make sure you have very little resistance on the ground. Then make sure the ends on the + are good and clean and snug. PRobably corrosion. The smaller wires running off the pos post feed the ECU and main fuse box. If you do all that and still nothing pull the ECU again. You could melted it like we were assuming before. You can text me Im running to town I just dropped the 2g about 3" and did some custom wheels. See my avatar
Also does it have the correct group size battery in it? Like I said my friend bought one that Oreillys had listed as an optional. I think his was NT minus the hump and he installed close the hood and it actually exploded the battery when it arced and pretty much melted the majority of everything electrical. He junked the car
