ok so my car is totalled and i have a few questions...

it was the other guys fault and it sounds like i would get 1300 for the car... but i want to keep it...

ive heard that you can get the money, and then buy your car back from the insurance company for less, but it will have a salvage title... can anyone with knowlege on this subject help me... what are my options....

o yea forgot to mention im in the bay area, of cali, thanks for reminding me... this guys insurance is state farms, if that helps at all

How bad's the damage, and what sort is it? As you see ($1300) it takes nothing to total a fifteen-year-old car, so if it's repairable you can wind up okay- except the salvage title remains forever and knocks your resale to nothing (check for "should I buy this car with a salvage title" threads). If you're keeping it until it rots to nothing, this part isn't a consideration.
Decide with your wallet, and not your heart. The car sure doesn't care about you.

i have pics, i just need a host, but basically, he swerved to try and miss me, but he didnt... so he hit about 8 inches of my drivers side bumper... the part where the bumper is (the functional bumper....not the plastic part) is just scratched up, and where it ends, there is a 2inch crack that cannot be seen in the pictures... the corner where the bumper isnt was knocked in about 4 inches deep, and the side leading up to the wheel weld starts to stick out and ends up about 6 inches sticking out...its basically just the plastic bumper, and the functional bumper needs to be reinforced according to the body guy, but i dunno if hes right... who knows... i can take pics of that too...

I had a lady run a red light at 55 mph and tbone me and my wife only 10 days after the car was done being built, but any ways i had $12,000 in the car not including the price of the car and they only gave me $4500 but they sold me the car back for $100 and i parted it out and made $3000 from parts but they do put a salvage title on the car, if you fix the car you can go to dmv they will look at the car ,and if it has been fixed they will give you a restored salvage title.hope this helps you out
