Was rear ended yesterday by an old fogie in a dodge caravan. Already took it up to one body shop and they said it was totaled. Car still drives fine, no dog tracking etc. Car blue books for 3600 dealer. Eagle Talon TSi AWD lsd in the rear, all options. Not even a check engine light.

This is what i've fixed on it so far.
Clutch.
Pressure plate.
Throwout bearing.
Driver wheel bearings.
Driver tie rod.
Pads and rotors.
Air filter.
Starter.
Intermediate shaft to transmission seal.
Tires 16 inch premium all weather.
Plug Wires
Fuel Pressure Regulator.

We both have state farm insurance. I'm kind of lost at this point and don't have much of a game plan. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your time.:ohdamn:

Does it look like I own one? No. I had a few of them. What you're referring to is related to the shops doing the work, not at what amount insurance values your cars. Please. Why does your onion say my negative?

My opinion of you being negative is because out of everything I've read from you 95% negative. But if you don't want to say it is being negative , why do you always have to show your ass. An by that I mean try an argue with everyone?

And weather it is a shop doing the work or insurance buying the car from you, if you are unhappy (here in Iowa) you don't have to settle. Like I said where you live it may be different like the other guy said where he lives he doesn't even have an option to buy the car back. Just like im positive if you were to move here the price of the insurance would very.

But all im saying is do you feel the need to try an argue with everyone.

An my point with if you even have a dsm an if you wouldn't pay 2050 for a 1g tsi, are you just here to start flamewars?

I like to argue with people who are in la-la land and think they are either smart or that entities like corporations are legally obliged to make them happy. I mainly argue with people who can't spell or use proper grammar, because I think they deserve it. People like that are nothing but bullshit artists because they obviously bullshitted and cheated their way through school instead of actually learning anything (the school systems mainly probably just got sick of them and passed them through.) I feel these people are not qualified to give any advice. You clearly can't read because it's been said before that I don't even own a car, hence the bike. I did own one, and now I don't. How hard is this to understand?

Clearly you can read or make to many assumptions. I new you don't have a car im saying it seems like all you do is argue. An your right the companies aren't out to make you happy an they will try an #### you, but if you argue with them you can make them be FAIR. Also just because someone isn't the best with grammar/english doesn't me they don't no what there talking about. But im done arguing with you, have a nice day.

If I walked into a business to have my car worked on and the owner or person in charge wrote like half of the people here (who also claim to work in the industry) I would not let them touch my car an immediately walk out. If a person can't put in the effort to learn their language, which is communication, one of the basic fundamentals of life, then why would I trust their advice or other abilities? I'm not talking about people who genuinely are a retarded...I'm talking about people who clearly just lack the drive to apply themselves. To me, a person with horrible language skills is equivalent to how most view those who dress slovenly and don't shave.

Wow, I couldn't have said it better myself.:applause: I always just thought it was because he was an angry old man.

What is this? English class? If it is, then why are you using 3 periods? :rocks:

It's called an ellipsis. It can be used to indicate a pause in a sentence. I think anyone who has a grasp of the English language can read anything I say and understand it. I'm one of the few people to not ever call out others on the rule of using proper spelling and grammar. When I see tech posts that are obviously someone on a phone typing like they are texting, I simply ignore them and don't help them.

I am an angry old man. I do not coddle people's frail emotions. I don't need to constantly go around complimenting people on their work. I would rather spend my time going around bashing sucky work.

You don't have to take what the insurance gives you. And in some states (like mine) you can sue the driver, not for the replacement value of the car, BUT the repair costs even if the repairs costs is 10 times the cost of a replacement.

Insurance companies do not want you to know this, because if you sue and win, it is THEIR responsibility to pay for the repair up until the policy maximum. I've known of someone doing this to a clean Honda locally so that he would not get a salvage title. The accident will show up on his driving record, but he still has a "clean" title.

The term "totaled" is nothing more than an invention by the auto insurance industry to trick you into thinking that there is no way to save your car, when really it's just a way for them to keep making money. The only exception is if the car is no longer safe to drive due to the accident.
