i have a 1g awd laser. i put a 20g turbo, a FMIC and a turbosmart boost tee boost controller. but after i put these on my car will studder in first and second gear but its fine in the other 3 gears. i was wondering if any1 had any ideas on what this could be.

Im thinking that putting stress on the engine and drivetarrain is where your getting the studdering. Shifting into 3rd 4th 5th its easyer because the weight of the car is already moving.

Did you run a boost leak test when you installed the FMIC? Did you put an aftermarket boost gauge in as well? If not that would be one of the first things to install is an aftermarket boost gauge, and rule of thumb that I have been told and always have done. Run a boost leak test when you replace gaskets, seals, piping, couplers, and clamps.

I don't agree with the stress on the engine theory since you actually get more load/stress on the engine in the higher gears, so that doesn't really make sense.

I do agree with doing a blt though. That would be the first place I'd start.

My 1990 gst had idleing problems and stuttred funny only when I went to take off. But there is less torque needed when the car is allready at a roll. As for the low end studder.

I BLT and tuned my car a bit more and it was all cured. I was just giving advise as to what me and a few people thought it was and what I did to make it stop doing that.
