So i replaced my timing belt And water pump but that didnt seem to ne the problem of my yankinh/jerking of my car. I press on the gas and my RPMs jumo like crazy and it sonds like its spitting and poping from my exhaust i cant drive for more than:confused: an hour at speed limit (40mph) really need help this mechanic doesnt know wats even wrong wit it. Someone told me it might be my ignition coil....

First thing i would do is pull the plugs and make sure the gap is right....my car did the same thing and my gap was set at. 30. I re gapped plugs to. 26 and it solved my issue. Also if you are not using ngk plugs i strongly suggest you do.

What is a normal gap for my N/T? ?

Pretty sure its on right, as in are all the teeth lined up?? Or is there another way to make sure its on right?

Check your rear o2 sensor. I had the same issue with my n/t when the rear o2 sensor went bad. You would barely touch the gas and the car would hit redline, and it ran like crap, sputtering and all kinds of shit.

Where is my rear o2 located and is it a hassele to take out?
How do i know when its bad or not?
Did your car stall sometimes on you when you had this problem?

Can my map senor possibly be the reason for the studdering/yanking?

Had the same problem with my 1.8L talon, never found the problem , just swapped a 4g63 in her!
Then took the oil pan of the old motor and noticed a LOT of black sludge.
I had taken it to a shop many times and they made me replace the ISC, which never fixed it.
I would check the TPS, and see if that's bad or not set properly!

1. It is on the exhaust pipe under the car. The wires run up through the floorboard under the drivers seat.
2. I don't know how to test it.
3. Yes it would stall out constantly. It would redline if I even bumped the gas pedal. It would spit, sputter, and run like shit (I thought it was the timing, it wasn't). And it would also die out quite a bit.

To all the people saying it won't affect the way the car runs, you are dead wrong. The 420a would barely run without the rear o2 sensor.

I replaced mine with one from a junkyard and it ran perfectly.
