calgary,
so we replaced the throwout bearing on my talon, it shifts ONLY when the car is off, if you have the car on, it will not even budge into gear (no grind sound either).

Checked the linkages and they are fine, it doesn't appear to have any air bubbles in the system.

I was told that the little fuel pump looking thing on the front of the transmission can cause this problem and to delete it?

What else could this be?

Is your slave cylinder rod moving when you're pushing in the clutch? Have someone check it while you are depressing the clutch pedal. If it isn't moving, you might be in need of a clutch pedal rebuild. In addition, was your pivot ball inspected when you had it apart? If it is worn down, it can prevent full clutch engagement which might keep you from shifting gears....

^^^^ what he said ....but depending on the clutch you used you may need a proper clutch fork with a little more offset to get the right amount of pedal feel and clutch master rod adjustment.....The clutch on my car was installed by the previous owner who was a rookie and because he didn't adjust the pedal rod the transmission now pops out of gear from time to time from gear graunch caused simply because the clutch wasn't completely dis-engaging for gear changes at a dead stop....( in other words the input shaft was still spinning when it shouldn't have been )

I corrected the issue but the damage is done.....be sure that doesn't become your story as well....I can still drive my car normally.....but it's annoying as all get out when your at a stop light in neutral...you select 1rst gear before the light goes green...and then the thing pops out every now and then when your feeding clutch into it......

Yes the slave is moving and I can watch the clutch fork, its traveling about 80 percent of how far it could go.

This car used to shift like butter and then sitting at a stop light it wouldn't go into gear...

I had the same issue when I had an ACT 2600 clutch kit. Took it to a shop, they said that my tranny fluid was almost gone. Should check yours because when he showed me mines, there were metal bits.

I went back to a stock clutch due to financial difficulties, but that problem was solved. I used to stall on purpose everytime I stopped because I couldn't put the car into gear.

Let me guess... slave and everything is working looking like normal... but car still won't go in gears when car is on... here was my problem.

That thing your talking about is the clutch damper and i doubt that is your problem. You just have to mess around with the slave cylinder. Gravity bleed it and use your hand to push it in and out and let it keep pouring. After that bleed it the legit way and hopefully that works.
If not you'll have to play with the clutch adjustment to push fluid far enough in and out. Another try will be the clutch thingy (dang i forgot the name)... oh clutch switch or something located where the clutch pedal stops traveling up, located under the dash.

A few weeks ago the fluid was low, so it must have leaked at some point. Once it was filled it has stayed up at the top. Also my friend was driving it and just pulling up to my house the clutch dropped to the floor.

On that note check all your clutch lines to check for leaks if it's not that I'd say your master cylinder needs to be replaced.
