car starts a little rough, give gas and dies

Ok, so I finally got my car running again but now there's a new problem. When I start my car it starts up a little rough. When I rev the engine it stalls out. Could it be that I'm running stock fuel pump w/ 550cc injectors and Aeromotive FPR? What could it be?

i have it set to 37psi's on the fuel pressure regulator(with vacuum line off, drops to around 25-30 with it on). do you think i should set it higher?

i just found out if I rev my car and let off the gas it stalls out but if I let off the gas slowly it doesn't stall. does that help? anyone have any ideas?

Do you have idle surge? you might have a bad isc because when you let off the gas the engine goes into decel. mode and cuts fuel, at 1500 rpms the fuel should kick back on and either idle good, stall, or try to stay running but shakely.

I don't have idle surge but what you described is on point. So most likely its the isc?

How can I check to see if it's the problem?

If you do not have idle surge this may not be the problem, but always good to check. This is a link that will tell you how to test the isc motor.

for clarification....idle surge is when the idle jumps up and down constantly, right?

I once had a similar problem after I accidently ran out of fuel. You said that you just got your car running again, so I would not be suprised if maybe you are picking up some dirt from your gas tank. That will clog your injectors, at least it did for me.

What can be done about that?

You can take the gas tank off and clean and drain it. I do not know how to do that or what precautions you need to take, but, I would recomend for anybody that has this, to have your injectors cleaned and to make sure you do not run out gas. Alot of cars have dirt in the tank, it just sinks to the bottom, no big deal, just keep an eye on your gas level.

how long did the car sit without running? if u are very low on fuel, maybe fill it up with fresh fuel, this may dilute any sediment and or old fuel in the tank. also if u haven't done so, change the fuel filter to make sure the fuel is being filtered properly.
