I just did a EVAP delete and put a new 255 Walbro in my 96 talon 420a and noticed that the car will start up but not very well. At idle I can see my motor violently shaking when the idle surges and the very second I try to rev the motor there is NO throttle response and the car dies.WTF
All my sensors seem to be in tact so any ideas for me:confused:

1 : Check for vacuum leaks.
2 : Do you have an AFPR for that wally? If not you're likely overrunning that stock FPR and causing an extremely rich condition which is killing the vehicle.

I have a fuel lab AFPR, it works great for me for the price. :thumb:

*check your plugs for black residue or gasoline odor.

would to rich of fuel cause your motor to voilently shake at idle and to die the instant you give it gas?
I am looking at a aluminum cnc billit AFPR by origin motor sports
If my plugs got badly fouled from the few start ups of too rich of fuel do I need to replace them?

If you never changed your pluggs, just change them for coppers as part of maintence, its relatively inexpensive.

the shakes could be a combination of many things. I'm leaning towards a vaccum expose. Excessive gas floods the plugs causing the motor to shut off.

Get a AFPR with a oil filled gauge, more accurate.

DSM doesn't do well with IR NGK.. it's been proven, search around, alot of people recommend copper 6 series.. those works for me as well.. for the vaccum, you can try using a vaccum hand pump and go thru any hose you see.. leakies will hold no vaccum. :p

What is the stock size for a 96 talon 420a fuel pump?
Yeah I knew I was going to need an AFPR eventually I just was quick to put in a new walbro in because my stock fuel pump broke on me

Why would you need a 255 in a 420a? A 155lph would have ###### have been more than enough for you. a 255lph is what im running in my turbo car, why would you think you would need that kinda volume of fuel in your NA? The violent shaking is likely because your getting fuel to pool on the pistons and its knocking. The stalling is likely the fuel can no longer burn because of the sheer amount in there and you stall. Im supprised you have yet to hydro lock that motor with fuel.

I just got it because it was a high preformence fuel pump that I already had and will probably never go out like my stock one did so I put that one in and will just get a regulator to bring it back to stock pressure
