my problem started after i put an after market intake on my tsi. if am sitting still and rev the car past 3 grand, it comes down and just dies. while i am driving and coming to a stop as soon as i put the car and neutral and let up off the clutch, the car falls to 0 rpm, and then if i put it in gear it will start back up. this is really annoying, any ideas? everything is hooked back up and my bov is recirculating. this is getting frustrating

What do you mean by intake? Is it a new air filter, new intake pipe, what?

If it's the intake pipe, did you deal with all of the tubing that connected to the stock pipe (recirc tube from BOV, VC breather, BCS bleeder line, emissions line to charcoal canister)?

Did you plug the MAS back in?

ok well you said you hooked up all the lines that you can see. but last time i took off my intake tube i acidently pulled my line off my charcoal canister where i couldnt see it since it is under the battery. i hooked everything back up and it ran like yours did.

check one more time for if any of the hoses have came off or are riped/cracked.

no cel, all hoses are connected, stock 1g bov recirculating, what the hell is the problem. if you go on vfaq and look at the biss adjustment, the first sentence says that whenever you add a mod that gives your engine more air volume that the biss needs to be adjust or it could cause stalling. now i have seen alot of threads on here and team-2g about cars stalling after installing an intake. i wonder if this could be the problem. but the article also says that on a 2g you can not adjust the biss screw without having a machine connected to the car.

my 1g does the SAME thing. Its been doing that since the previous owner installed a Cyclone Intake. Any ideas?

You can adjust the BISS without the mutt system i think its called. But its nota precies. But ive adjustd mine without it and it does fine. The only thing the computer does is it stops the AIC from trying to adjust whiel your adjusting your BISS. But the BISS will just raise your idle. I dont know if it will help your stalling problem though but its worth a shot i guess.

I am pretty sure a vacuum line is disconnected or that filter or whatever you bought is junk. Try trailing your vacuum hoses down to where the other sides are connected and see if they are connected. ( If you're going to look around the charcoal canister, you need to take the battery and battery tray off to look. If that all looks good. I say put your stock piping, filter whatever you replaced back on to test it.

There are numerous threads with similar problems like yours. Most ended up being a small tiny line disconnected. I know cause it happened to me as well when I installed my intake. Did not notice it till a week later. It was the line from my wastegate to the intake. Check you lines again. Don't just look at them. Feel them and trace it along with your hands. You might have accidently pulled one too hard and caused a tear. I did that today with my BOV line from the manifold. Luckily it was at the end of the piping.
