I have a 90 talon tsi awd that smokes really bad black smoke and won't idle for nothing. Just trying to tap into the all knowing and try to get this thing fixed.

Not yet but I did look around on here before I posted and yall say boost leak test. And some other things are bad just can't remember what.

And that link didn't help me at all there is no surge it just won't stay running unless you keep your foot on the gas

I hope its that easy cause it happened when I was getting on it just to get it going fast wasn't racing just cause. And them boom just won't go past 2.5k and go faster then 20 mph almost like its gutless

You blew a intercooler coupler, most likely.

*edit yet again* I feel as though I should elaborate. Typically when you blow a intercooler pipe the car barely wants to rev, since it has a massive boost leak. It will also not want to go passed 20-30 MPH... typically I'm sure there are rare exceptions. The reason this is my first thought is simple. If it was that you hit fuel cut and have timing pulled (assuming you are capable of doing this with your set up) by the ECU, you'd just have to turn the car off and it would be normal again (not sure if the 1g ECU does this but I know the 2g ECU does this, although I am 90% sure it does). The other thing that would make the most sense would be my suggestion, thus... I say... blown coupler! Also this happened while in boost so it makes the most sense.
