Bought my 97 tsi and realized when I give it more than 50% throttle in 4th and 5th gear around or over 80mph it shuts off. All I have to do is pump the clutch once and it fires it right up again.

Damn, I would definitely start with checking your fuel pressure. When it shuts off does it feel like your hitting wall or does it shut off kind of gradually.

it's a pretty smooth shut down. sometimes I wont even notice it until I try to do something like gas it or turn. How would I check my fuel pressure?

Figured out how to check my pressure haha. It has a gauge right on it. Thanks man. Ill check that out when I get a chance and post an update

So I turned up the fuel pressure and it only made it worse. Turned it up to 4.5 psi and It would kill after just a little bit of throttle. Then I turned it down to 3.0 psi. It would just slowly idle itself to death and throttling it wouldn't do much but sputter. inbetween 3.5 and 4.0 psi made no difference. And ideas?

Do you have an afpr? Those numbers are not close to what your fuel pressure should be and Id be surprised if the car even started with numbers that low. Before I realized mine was low, after my afpr instal, the car would only start and run for at most 5 seconds before stalling out and the pressure was around 20psi. Should be adjusted to near 43psi with the vacuum hose pulled off and capped

I have no idea If I have one of those. Where would the vacuum house be?

Also, I had the gauges mixed up. I set it for 44psi=2.9 kg/cm^2 and had the same problem. Im pretty sure it's not the fuel pressure anymore. Any other ideas?
