Hey guys, i was looking through forums for the past hour trying to find the answer. but on average i've seen that the shaking problem is very common. i have a 95 TSI AWD that shakes like crazy and im trying to get feedback from someone that has the same problem on average how much did you guys spend in order to get the car working again?

Describe shaking. At idle, driving down the road, low rpm high rpm? It could be a balance shaft not in time, any one of your mounts shot.
 
When you increase the speed while driving (highway speeds etc..) it starts to shake...

Proper plugs (NGK BPRE6's) gapped to .028, plug wires. Probably fix it, may be oil in your plug wells, sounds like something ignition related. Could possibly be a boost leak, but doesn't exactly fit what you're describing. Change plugs first, they're only $8
 
Well lets narrow the hunt first...does it shake when your on the throttle or anytime your in motion? (at speed that is) If its all the time when at speed, it probably has to do with your suspension. A simple fix being an alignment, or possibly a more technical suspension component.

Or is it reliant upon engine load? So whenever your on the throttle, or high in the rpms it gets progressively worse?

If its the latter, your engine is to blame...whether it be a reciprocating or rotating imbalance.

My car did that after my balance shafts were removed... any modifications to your car?
 
-Thought about front end balljoints in the lower control arm might be bad?
-Tie rod ends?
-Struts needs replacing around all four corners?
-Wheels need balancing?
-Bent, or out-of-round wheels that's been 'curb surfing' most of their lives?
-CV axles with torn boots and all the grease has spun out of them with the spiders inside ready to go destroy on you?
-Got a tire that is ready to explode on you since it might have tread separation from the casing-a bubble that can't readilly be seen until you lift if up and rotate the tire around and say "CRAP!"?
-Wheels about ready to come off the hub due to loose lug nuts?
-Brake rotors needs turned due to slight warpage, meaning a brake job?

Usually, when you get the 'shakes' when approaching highway speeds, it's suspension or wheel balancing that is needed to be looked at.
