Car Runs Hot, No IDEA HELP!

was the radiator recently installed? did u just change your thermostat or gasket or any thing like that? have you recently worked on the something of the coolant system recently and this problem just happened afterwards? or have there been no changes and this problem just arose?

if you just recently serviced the coolant system or was working on it did you burp the system of air pockets? i know they say burpin air pockets is not required do to the factory position of the thermostat (being at the top of the system it should manage to burp itself) but each time ive worked on the coolant system to make sure theres no air pockets i'll run the car up to normal temp, turn the engine off AND EVER SO CAREFULLY REMOVE THE RADIATOR CAP WITH A BUNCH OF RAGS.

they also make radiator caps with a pressure releif lil flicker valve. either way will work. if you open the system when its hot, the steam and air pockets have no choice but to exit out the top of the system.

^^^All good info. Is your car losing coolant? I assume the coolant looks clean?

With the car off and cool, open the radiator cap. Squeeze the lower radiator hose a few times to help any air bubbles move around. Start the car (with the cap off) and let if warm up. The thermostat should open before the fans kick on and you should be able to see coolant flowing.

Good luck!

other things to consider. tension of wp pully, when up the temperature feel the upper coolant hose that goes from thermastat housing to radiator to verify the thermastat is opening properly, check exsaust leaks for inaccurate o2 readings which will cause you to run lean

just double check the thermostat. take it out and put it in a pot of boiling water and make sure it's opening. does it overheat from just idling?
