98 eclipse GSX few mods. . The engine itself doesnt really run to hot the gauge is right smack in the middle and stays there all the time. I have carbon fiber hood and my headers run so hot it put 3 tiny cracks from heat right above the headers in my hood. Im afraid the headers can get so hott they can effect pipes around it and my air intake. Is this normal or anyone got any solutions??thanks

hey dude i have a carbon hood also on my car ...but i have the evo style with vents right over the turbo and manifold to let the heat escape from under the hood and works very well on those hot days ... another solution is wrap with DEI heat wrap on everything that makes excessive heat that will protect your hood and other components :D

Thanks a lot but last question. I heard the heat wrap just holds heat and heat eventually gets to pipes and they bust. I dont know if just rumor but imm gonna start rappin most of my engine. I do have a the carbon fiber hood with the scoop so air gets in. Bu thanks alot:cool:
