Well I had another thread where I was chasing issues getting the car I just bought for 200$ to idle. Turned out the egr was missing off the mani, I found that out after I put a fiav blockoff plate on the throttlebody. Got the car to idle ok last night, went to drive it to work this morning, it drove fairly well while warming up, I could get it to go into boost a little and go up in the rpms with no issues. Once warmed up the car hesitated, stumbled, wouldn't go over 2k rpm, it would boost but would go NOWHERE it was terrible. I am going to boost leak test it tomorrow to check it out, tonight I'm putting new injector seals on it because I'm sure they are leaking, just not convinced they could leak enough to cause this problem. What could cause the car to run well in closed loop but as soon as it gets into open loop it runs like garbage?

Closed Loop - An electronic feedback system in which the sensors provide constant information on what is taking place in then engine.

Open Loop - An electronic feedback system in which the sensors information is not utilized by the ecu for engine signal output.

I think you got the terms mixed up when you posted.

Overall it sounds like a boost leak, and since you haven't done the test yet I would bet its that.

Is your car throwing any codes? Could be a sensor malfunctioning.
