Car randomly shuts off and radio volume lowers

I've been having problems with my car randomly shutting off after 25 minutes of driving. I thought it was overheating but I changed the thermostat, hoses, coolant, sensors and the radiator and headgasket look okay. I recently noticed that while driving for a while, after the engine starts to heat up the radio volume will lower, than if I raise it, after a little while it will get lower until i have it up to the max and can barely hear it. Does this mean that my cars shutting off because it is losing power? And what should I look at for a cause? Any helps appreciated, thanks!

That sounds very odd... have to changed the battery and alternator?

I also Suggest checking your charging system. Also check for faulty grounds on the charging circuit.

I'm new to dsm's but have a been a mechanic for awhile. Are the windows going down slower, or the blinkers start to not work? If so cud definantly be an alternator, my friend had this exact issue with his 1g talon.

yea i think its one of those, go to advanced and get them tested.

Yep. Bad Battery took out the alternator. need to replace both. OR, the alternator needs replaced due to bad brushes inside and can't charge up the battery. How are the battery connections - metal clean and tight with no corrosion, or you got all sorts of wires running off the positive connector running every which way they want to?
