Ok did a little searching and found a few related posts...but all different then mine.

The other day i installed a brand new optima red top, new battery connectors. All of which are double checked and are tight. I also went to install my afpr (aem) when i realized the kit didnt come with the fuel rail outlet i needed to install it. So after unplugging the two vacuum hoses (one to the TB and the other to the stock fpr), and unplugging a wire thats near the fpr in the way, i had to just re-install the stock fpr, and plug all the stuff back in. Ive double and triple checked everything near there, to make sure i didnt unplug anything else, and i cant find anything.

Now my car will randomly die. Typically after i come from a high rpm and push in the clutch. My rpms just drop all the way to zero and obviously the car dies. It really seems like a vacuum leak, accept for the fact that sometimes it idles just fine, and stays running. Then out of no where, it will die when decreasing rpm. I dont know if maybe im missing something, if maybe the battery install could have something to do with it, being that its a new batter? Kinda lost on it, since ive checked for a vacuum leak.

If ya got an idea that would be great since i just dropped 900$ in goodies, im kinda nervous now since its having a problem staying running. Also anybody else get a tick that seems to come and go? I have a rebuilt head, and seems i get a fantom tick that will slowly appear, and then disappear, oil pressure good, fresh change, and plenty on the dipstick.

Thanks

sometimes when disconnecting the battery the computer losses its memory of all the values that it had stored . when you start driving around its going to relearn everything and should start to run better.

Don't happen to have the "I randomly turn my key to 'off' when coming to a stop" disorder, do you? :p

Likely what happened is, indeed, a vacuum leak. You should perform a boost leak test and spray down everything with soapy water. Also, just to be sure, test your TPS and make sure you didn't whack it when you were installing the battery and dislodge it away from it's proper setting. An incorrectly adjusted TPS will cause similar issues.

This is at least a very simple starting point.

Does this really happen? That seems kinda crazy to me, but since u mentioned it, perhaps the setting's in my safc, or avcr (i did check the avcr and it was still right) got reset or something, so thanks for that.

LOL im not a genius, but im 89% sure that i dont, not unless i have an epileptic seizure that i cant recall just prior to and after my car dies LOL. I will def check the tps tho and keep you guys posted on what i find, thanks for the ideas. Do you think it could have anything to do with fuel? Ive tried to restart it and it always starts right up after i dies, and returns to idle just like normal.

yep i have random lifter tick as well usually run when i start it up or when it idles for awhile.. its not loud.. you cant hear it from inside the car but its always been like that on both motors that have been in my car. ill be taking care of that shortly with 3g rockers when i replace the timing belt.
