I have a 95 Eagle Talon TSI (automatic), i recently installed a brand new evo III 16g, SSAC FMIC kit and a Injen style intake

and now it just seems as if i lost like 100whp

ive noticed that it seems that im running very rich, im spiting some type of black carbon like luqid out of my exhaust, and my spark plugs are very very black (brand new ngk 7s, installed with turbo, have maybe 20 miles on them), i have done a compression test and all cylinders are good (170-165-170-172)

it struggles to reach 3500rpm, its not sputtering, it just wont go, i can hear the turbo spooling but it just wont go :notgood:

im going to atempt a boost leak test tomarrow

please please help:barf:

as in wrong i mean with a bike pump...if i have a big leak it will not pressurize, yes the tester is clamped to the turbo

i have a cigarette lighter pump i will try it out tomorrow

but basically before i was just putting it on the turbo and pumping away...which did not work at all

Do you have any type of fuel control.. SAFC/ LINK? Sounds like your dumping way too much fuel in and its fouling/ spitting out fuel soaked carbon..

A bike pump is completely wrong for a boost leak test. You need something that can flow some serious CFM's, and build up 20+ psi quickly. If not, you'll just be pumping until the cows come home, while the little pressure you're building is leaking out.

Get a portable air tank, or a real air compressor.

When my buddy got his FMIC, I helped him install it. I remember when unpacking it there were foam inserts in the inlet and outlet. Did yours have those?? It sounds dumb, but that could be whats stopping the air from flowing the way it should.

good luck

Did you double check all your FMIC pipe connections? One of mine popped off at the intercooler and wouldnt climb past 3k and ran like sh*t. It kept popping off to till i got the water off the pipe and the clamp made a good seal around the pipe. Just a thought :D

Dude, you can not use a bike pump for a boost leak tester. This is nothing more than a boost leak that you have not found yet. I would guess it is a problem with your FMIC piping.
