Car Lost all power and now sputters? help

Well here is the problem. I was driving down the road testing a fmic i installed a few days before. The car had been running fine then all of a sudden during a 3rd gear pull my car lost power like i had let off gas bov let out and all. Now the car is sputtering and will die. There does not seem to be water in the oil or have blown off a ic coupling but i have not done a boost leak test yet. Would a boost leak make it run like this or did i blow something up. I seen a little white smoke coming from tail pipe right after all this happened.

Boost leak test would be a good place to start. Even before that, take a quick look around the engine bay for anything obvious, could be that a coupler blew off on the intercooler piping you installed.

I would definitely focus on the new intercooler you installed. Couplers disconnected, pipes, etc. I'd doubt this but maybe the FMIC itself has a hole or something. What kind of FMIC is it? Just double check all your piping and stuff. Try to do a boost leak asap. Did this happen under heavy boost? I am suspecting a boost leak revolved around the FMIC install. Happens a lot.

my car is doing the same thing now, except i still have the rubber lower peice attatched to the turbo, and was wondering if thats a problem, im going to go back over all the couplings tonight and tighten them.

How often is it sputtering? under heavy boost? at idle? If it does it continuosly and you've already done a boost leak test and everything seems in order, try checking your plugs and wires. Maybe one of them took a crap.
