I've replaced like 4 batteries in the last 2 years.. now the battery light comes on if i let it sit too long.. or randomly.. the alternater has been replaced a yr ago.. and is still chargeing like a champ. Gauge lights and everything is nice and bright..

I checked most grounds that i know of, or can obviously see. a bit rusty but solidly connected with no breaks.. Would there be any that arent obvious or hidden that i could be missing?

My computer is really hot, the MFI relay is really hot, and on two pegs it almost burns me

i hope my text image stays together.. it's difficult to photograph it. the two with the < by it are extreamly hot after running for a while.. I don't notice any heat patterns on the coil.. But there is carbon build up on the coil side of the switching mechanisim.. I'll swap this out as i have before but the problem continues..
the numbers by the pins are 30 and 87d?

I'm hopeing that someone will know what parts the two pins go to.. cause this will be the pathway with the most resistence.. or bad connections.. And give me a better idea of where to look for issues without pokeing around possibly messing more things up.. :aha:

no, no radio, no alarms, I took photos of loose wires under my dash and in the engine bay..
and someone told me that they were from an old alarm system.. I'll look for the post and link it

I put 165W bulbs in the low and high beam slots.. both are high beam bulbs.. I like the extra field of view and over 200feet i can see now..

this is a link to the wires that are still not connected to anything.. I did hook up the ones that were colored the same and got my fuel gauge working.. nothing else matches up.. the power locks still don't work, but my windows do.. haven't tested for voltage to the locks motor yet.

right now i have the mfi removed to see if the battery light will come back on, in the morning.. So far it hasn't died, but the battery light comes on if the car doesnt run for long periods of time. tonight it came on after sitting for 5 min or so..but the battery is holding a good charge..

I replaced the battery recently after It wouldn't start after it sat for maybe 5 mins.. replaceing the battery got it going again.. after a month the light started coming on again.

Sounds like you are draining it slowly and wearing the battery out. Parasitic loss somewhere in a constant 12 volt source when key is in off position. I am trying to think of everything that could work with out key being on. Cig lighter yes, ecu sort of, lights yes, windows no, radio sort of, dash no, starter no, fuel pump no. My method would be check resistance of illumination circuits, and all circuits not requiring key on or engine on. Then check ecu output voltages, or better yet check batt voltage across terminals over span of certain time, then unplug ecu and recheck. Its usually the small things not the big things.

oh and another thing check continuity of door lock switch. It could more than likely be stuck and trying to constantly run lock motor. which you should at very least unplug then replace and replace motor(s).

yea, leaveing the mfi unplugged overnight didnt prevent the issue of the light comming on..
it's getting more frequent now..

i'll go disconnect the door lock motrs now...

well after looking it over the positive terminal was touching the mounting frame for the computer.. :ohdamn:

burning out the altenator.. it's replaced now but still gets pretty hot.. is this normal or should i go ahead and replace the "b" wire.. ?? :hmm:

this seemed to free up some voltage.. lighting is brighter now, also disconnected the cigarette lighter.. still wish i knew where those random wires go..

Look into the possible old alarm. It would kill the battery overnight. Pulled the alarm out and now everything is working fine.
