Ok so i posted a thread a few weeks back about how my car wouldn't start after a rebuild... well TODAY i got it to start and stayed on for about 10-15 sec's and then slowly died.... now it will crank over and sound close to it wanting to start but doesn't....

I replaced the ECU
The MPI
and Rewired my pump...

one thing i noticed while it was on is my boost gauge was reading neg. boost or vacuum!
and another thing... my fuel gauged reads no pressure... but there is some at the bottom of the AFPR... ima have to take it off and tighten it!

but im sure that isn't the reason the car isn't working!!

ANYONE help me with this???
im in dire need of my car!!

No fuel pressure. Correct that problem first....

ahhh thanks... thats why im HERE!!!!!

now ill say it again... its getting fuel.... but the AFPR isn't reading!!(WHY?)

I just replaced the fuel filter... and cleaned the tank.. and put new gas.. and have a new fuel pump!

now if i could have some real help... rather then sarcastic answers, i would appriecate that!
thanks

ok.. since i replaced about EVERYTHING in the fuel system and the firing system... ima lean towards a clogged line. The Car DID sit for almost 2 years!
Since theres is fuel in my lines but not building pressure SOMETHING must be restricting it before the fuel rail!!
Now lets say it IS a clogged line... how do i go about cleaning it out??

im in dire need of my car!!

lets start from the top. your car won't start after a rebuild, i see that you've done a N/T to turbo conversion? was this already done so you KNOW that it runs correctly before your rebuild or when you rebuilt the motor you did the conversion?
what did you do differently ^^^ that day that you weren't before since you got it to start for 15 seconds that day?
your boost gauge should read 15 to 20 inHg (vacuum) when its idling, thats normal. a 4g63 needs a few things just to get it to start-up and idle. fuel, spark, air, & timing.
timing... since its a fresh rebuild im going to assume you (or whoever rebuilt the motor) installed the timing belt components and put everything at TDC correctly so we'll factor that out of the equation. so now we're looking at fuel, spark, & air.
fuel... since you've already established from your op that your fuel gauge reads no pressure this is what id be looking at first. how do you know your fuel pump is working after you did the rewire? even if theres gas in the afpr the gauge still reads ZERO. granted, the gauge could be bad (its happened to me) so before you blow $20 on a new guage find out if you've got fuel pressure by doing the following. if you don't have a fuel pressure tester from your local auto store you can save yourself some time and money by just removing the line going into the fuel rail and try to start the car. BE SURE you've got a bunch of shop rags and a BIG throw away taco bell cup (or equivalent) to catch the fuel coming out of the fuel line... that fuel pump pushes a lot of fuel if its working so be careful, that cup will fill up fast. if you get gas in the cup put the line back on the fuel rail and order a new afpr gauge EXTREME PSI : Your #1 Source for In Stock Performance Parts - Fuel Accessories
if there isn't gas in the cup after youve turned the engine over then its the fuel pump (a clogged fuel line would be the last thing id check btw) check and recheck your fp rewire and make sure its got a good ground. pull out a DMM (digital multimeter) and check for voltage at the fp when you turn the car over (should be 12-14v present) if you absolutely think its a clogged fuel line then heres the route that i would take STM | 90-99 DSM FUEL TANK TO RAIL KIT

if you've done all this and are still having problems getting the car started just post back up the results from the fuel testing. WE WILL get that car to start...

:dsm:

haha thanks man.. thats what i needed!! Some motivation, some spark from yall!

taking about this:
if you've done all this and are still having problems getting the car started just post back up the results from the fuel testing. WE WILL get that car to start...

And ill do what i can and let it be know on here once i do!!

thanks again!
