Ok some of you may remember that i was given a B&M FPModifier. I installed it and install went great. I keep it all the way backed out, that way it will stay around stock pressure (43psi i believe). And every since ive installed it i will drive around and shut it off like normal, and it wont start back up when im ready to go back out again. Im not talking about spooling up the turbo or anything, i really baby it and i try to start it and it doesnt want to turn over. I guess it seems Flooded maybe? I bought a turbo timer to let it idle for a couple minutes and it seems to be working fine now. But i mean its just wierd because i thought you only had to let it cool down if you had been running it hard. I have a bad 02 sensor, that may have something to do with it. I just recently installed sparkplugs and wires. My only mods are intake and a cheap n1 muffler. And my Old man of a Dad that doesnt know anything about turbo cars (hes one of those rednecks with his old loud hemi road runner) and hes telling me ive confused my computer all to hell ??? If you guys know anything that i could replace to help this , or maybe i justneed to put a stock FPR back on, i dunno im open to suggestions, thanks again guys--Tony

First thing is to put the stock one back on and see if that helps.
Why? He already knows it's something to do with the fpr that he just put on, so why spend the time to put the old one back on?

Do you have a fuel pressure gauge? Whats the pressure at? Are you loosing pressure due to a leak of some sort making it hard to fire up again?

Because that will fix his problem

If my FPR was causing hard or no starts I would be yanking the SOB of right away as it could also be causing a fuel delivery problem.

he mentioned stock pressure of 43 psi....is that what it is on 2g's?

I thought stock was 37 or so...or is that on 1g's only? i have a walbro 255 right now with no fpr, and my fuel pressure guage is reading about 45 psi...car feels like shit most of the time.

I don't know if this helps, but i read this little tidbit of info on taboo's site.

"The fuel pressure solenoid can be safely removed. Its function is to increase the fuel pressure on start-up by closing the vacuum path to the fuel pressure regulator which is suppose to prevent the fuel from evaporating when the engine is hot. This is not a problem when high volume fuel pump is being used or might take just a bit more cranking in case of completely stock fuel system."

First of all, with the B&M modifier, you can't put your stock one back on, because you have to hack it up and bolt the B&M unit onto it. He'd have to find a stock replacement.

To me, it sounds like you have an issue with the fuel pressure bleeding out of the lines when you stop the car. If you turn it off and start it right back up, does it start right away? Then when you let it set for an hour or so, and come back, is it hard to start?

If so, the fuel pressure is bleeding out of the lines. Find the leak and fix it - it may be coming from your FPR.

That sounds about right, but I absolutely cannot find a leak anywhere. Im just going to go to a junkyard later this week and find a stock one. Its really only a problem if i dont let the car cool down for a minute or so after it has been running, its perfect as long as i let it rest for a minute. I'll put it up for grabs this week end if anyone is interested. Thanks guys --- Tony

Hey Tony... What happened to your problem? Did it get resolved when you replaced the FPR??? I am having a problem when starting the car after its hot and sitting for an hour or so. What happenes is it runs as if it does not have enough fuel for about a minute after warm startup than gets ok. If I shut it off wait 5 minutes than restart, it starts perfectly. I think my FPR is letting off pressure and it started right after changing to new injectors.

If you bought a B&M, you pretty much got rip off. I bought one on ebay and the auction said FPR. Recieve it and it said modifier,, dam that ebay picture of the FPR modifier looks big but not when I recieved it, pictures....

Here is your problem, cause it happen to me. I one time adjust it down too much and hard a spring snap. Took it off and disassemble it and was not perfectly aligned. I had to redue like three times, make sure you hold that shit aligned and have someon tighten that thing up. I had my brother tighten it up while I hold it down.
I did not mess with it any longer and bought a real FPR. Believe me my car was sitting dead for about 2 days because of that MODIFIER.
It is hard to find a stock fpr from the junk yard, I try that all ready. They don't take things off that is attached to the motor to be merchandise, it goes with the motor. Usually these motors goes out fast..... got to ebay I saw some that comes with stock fuel rail and fpr for 15 bucks.

hope this helps.
