So my motor is a recent rebuilt motor... it has maybe 100 miles on it... and it just started doing this!!
its kindof hard to start, most times i have to spray a bit of starting fluid in her! (which i know is HORRIBLE for the rings) and on cold days its worse...
Along with this my idle is flexing up and down bad.. some times rapidly, some times slow and smoothly!
I replaced the ICS, resealed my throttle body (to make sure no leaks) and my BISS screw is all the way in and stripped!!

ANY HELP with these two issues PLEASE!!!

Hard start... i have no clue what it could be!

Idle... well i tried a few things that didn't seem to help!!
(well i did get a used isc, but i remembered after replacing it, before th rebuild the motor idled fine!!)

i dont' know!!

Hearing this reminds me of an ignition module that wasn't getting enough juice for the sparkplug-plugs were coal black covered in soot.

I had a case last year, esp during the winter of this same problem. I would pull plugs and all were wet. Had to dry them off, then it would catch when I was lucky. Then, I got smart with a hard start by pushing down the gas pedal all the way to get some air in the cylinders to dry out the plugs and it would then finally catch-thing acted like it was flooding all the time when cold-fired up fine when warm. I did find a vacuum leak and did help some. I even bypassed the FPR and see if that would help.

Had a bad CAS, coil .. and finally the ECU . Did these changouts and no problems since.

some areas to take a peek at..

good luck with your find to solve your issue-DSM

Just curious, I know you said it just started, but with only a hundred miles on a block how many starts have you REALLY had??

In you profile, you have a 255 and AFPR, what are they set at and did you set the fuel pressures with the Vac' line off or on? I dialled mine up a while back to try and push a little more fuel into the system to try and compensate for weird FT's on my logger. It ran OK and was a pig to start and idle when cold, 'cause it was drinking too much juice at low idle.

Also, do you have any FIAV mods? that might also cause you some grief with the cold starts.

Big Question...have you done a good boost leak test??

The car adds more fuel when it's cold out to help it start. It's a pretty common thing for our CTS (coolant temp sensor) to go out, telling the ecu that it's -50* outside when it's really 35*. This will add tons more fuel and cause you to flood the cylinders. If you have a logger you can look at your coolant temperature with the key in the "on" position (car not started) and see if it seems inaccurate. You can also test the cts with an ohm meter according to the haynes manual.

I also agree though on doing a good boost leak test, and also for the biss screw you can jb weld or superglue a pen or small screwdriver to the screw and back it out that way.

PS: The cts is located on the thermostat housing.

My Fuel pressure is set to 38psi

No i haven't done a boost leak test but want to.. because i do feel like there is a leak somewhere altho i believe its small i want to find it!

and ya i know where the CTS is... well kindof.. i know there is a Sensor and a Sending Unit!!
ONE of them as a broken connection... so i took it off and went to autozone, told them i didn't know which one it was and they look at it and got bother the sensor and sending unit and nether looked like it and they told me that they didn't know what it was!!
Altho i know what it is i just dont' know which one!
I guess i can just buy them both since if ones bad they both could be!!
and i dont' have a logger yet!! everything is stock basicly.. had to get a new fuel pump cause my DL pump wouldn't run the 450's and i got a 255 cause i plan in the future needing it!

and as for the biss screw... haha i never thought to use jb weld!!
i guess i can try that!! and where can i get another biss screw?? autozone, orielly's??

thanks for all the help!!

ya i do... for some crazy reason i didn't think to look in there hahah!
Silly me!
But i did for get to mention, that one i do get the car started and it warms up it starts up fine... till i cools down...
and i may have more then 100 miles.. more like 150-175.. but still there hasnt been many start ups!

Yep, temp sensor - may have gone kaput on you. Until you get a new one, just barely hold down the pedal then hit the key and you're gonna have to barely sit on it until it starts getting a bit warm then you can release the pedal.

It'd be the sensor on the left of the housing with the two wired plug going to it.

ok i fixed the startup problem... thanks to everyone with all the help, it was that my coolent temp sensors werent reading BECAUSE the wires were cut!!! fixed it starts up fine everytime! and now have 400 miles one my baby!

BUT i haven't fixed the idle, cant figure it out for the life of me!
i have noticed that when i am cruising in a parking lot in 1st of 2nd gear going slow with my foot mostly not even pressing the gas, it jerks... it feels as if im rapidly tapping the gas!!
Could this be the Throttle Positioning Sensor??

Oh and about the sensors in the thermostat housing... there is FOUR... the haynes books states there is three, one coolent temp sensor(dash gauge), coolent temp sensor(ECU), temp sending unit (A/C)

but i found four on on the housing top thing... and three on the actual housing thats like on the block!
two of what i know are and the third is right under the radiator hose... and i have no clue what its for!!
Thats is the one that has a broken connection!
