Car dies when clutch engaged

Alright well I finally got to take the car out today for a spin for the first time ever and I was going to start doing my basic cruise tuning with link and the car is having some trouble staying running. I can get the car to idle between 950-1100 rpms without the clutch engaged but once I engage it, the idle drops to 650-700rpms and wants to die and usually does die when coming up to a stop unless I give it throttle. The only thing that I can think of that I changed on the car recently is I switched to a saturn alternator but it is charging my battery just fine. I have checked voltage on that, did a boost leak and found none and checked my base ignition timing for the hell of it. Everything checked out fine. Any suggestions?

How does it idle in neutral?

Car idles around 950-1100 in neutral with the clutch not engaged. As soon as I engage it the rpms drop.

What is your rpm set at for nlts and 2 step?

How does your crank look? That would be a story to tell... Freshly rebuilt w/ 2500 miles and she's walking...

I don't have NLTS or 2 step on my car yet and I checked for play in the crank pulley and no play at all.

Is this after a pull or just normal driving?? I ask because if you dont have a recerc that could cause the problem.

Does it happen only once there is resistance on the clutch pedal, or as soon as you start pushing the pedal in?

Could be a massive boost leak, clutch safety switch, or a vacuum leak

You might check the ground from the engine to the body,and all grounds

It's possible that you accidently disabled the clutch cut in Link, you must check the "Enable clutch cut" checkbox on the RPM/TPS tab. Otherwise the idle rpm will drop when you activate the clutch switch by pressing down on the pedal.

Ran into same problem a few weeks ago. Last night I was driving and the clutch pedal started dropping. Checked endplay this morning and its way out of spec. Check yours before more damage is done.
