Car dies unless revved Seems like intake sensor..

I know this is unrealated to DSM but this is the most helpful forum im on. My moms car (1998 Mitsubishi Montero)was just in the shop to get the battery terminals changed. The guy said he changed the TERMINALS(PLURAL) he only changed one When i got there to pickup the car he had the intake out. I asked him why, his response was that he was just checking something.. After changing the battery which wasnt holding charge i started the car and immediately it died. Im convinced he tampered with something because he said we needed to have the fuel line cleaned! When we took the car to him(before the terminals acted up) the car ran fine! The car is acting the same as if you were to take out the air filter sensor. If you keep it revving above 1 it will stay on and drive as long as your revving. Any ideas what he did or what the problem can be?

I'd call management and complain let them know what you saw and how it ran before and make them fix it for free.

Most places make you sign a release to work on only what was agreed too. You can start at the lowest level and threaten a lawyer or going to superior.

Or you can check wire harnesses in area for loose ones. But sounds fishy.

I would maybe check the MAF for something that just doesn't look right, maybe something plugged up. It could also just be unplugged. When it's sitting there running, can you hear any air leaking. As in any unplugged hoses going to the throttle body or intake system. this happened to my GF's Subaru, it was just a intake return line that had came unplugged from the intake. I also agree with what And_44 said, contact a manager or even a owner if you can(owner would work best).

Was anything unplugged when you started the car? You said the intake wasn't plugged in, was it reinstalled prior to starting it?

On my dsm if my mad isn't hooked up it acts the same exact way you describing you problem and if not go with telling their management and getimg it fixed free

Try cleaning the maf sensor with the maf sensor cleaner, see if that helps.
