Car dies if revved to 3000 rpms

Just the other day, my car started up just fine like it always has. I drove a couple blocks to the store and shut it off when I went inside. Ten minutes later, I go out to start it and all that it will do is sputter and then die. I can rev it to about 3000 rpms, then it will spit and sputter. It also pops a couple of times and then dies out right away. I get so many mixed answers from people I ask. Some say it is my plugs and wires, and some say it is my coil pack. This is my only car and I hope nothing too serious is wrong. Any input is greatly appreciated.

Could be possible fuel starvation . . . maybe a clogged fuel filter. I would check your fuel pressure -

How can I check my fuel pressure?

check and make sure all your harnesses are plugged in. it's happened to me before and ended up being the harness that plugs into the intake manifold

Check your MAF sensor and make sure it is still plugged in and all the piping from the MAF is connected securely. Also check the connection on your Ignition Module located below your coil pack. You can remove it and take it to your local Autozone and get it tested. If you let it cool down all the way and it starts right up with no problem, it could just be the ignition module going out.
