Car died! Won't start, no turn sugnal

Wow this sucks! My car died Idling at a light with no provocation. After playing with key and push button ignition it started and drove normally home about 1 mile. I tried to drive it again about an hour later and it died as I decelerated to a stop. This time it was dead. My stereo comes on as well as my dome lights. Disconnecting the battery didn't fix anything.

I checked all the plausible fuses, but I don't think that explains why it would start then drive then die for good. Maybe it's a relay? I have working hazards, but the turn signals are dead and so is my power window. The door ajar light and beep work, but when I turn the ignition to "on", I get no power up lights in my dash (oil, volts, all that)

One other person had this problem when I searched, but they didn't say how they fixed the dying problem, just that they replaced the turn signal stalk. I'm positive that wouldn't make my car die randomly........I'm really screwed

Let me add that I have replaced the alternator twice in 6 months (Fairfax auto remanufacture was poo poo ao they game me another) and my starter went bad in the fall. It too is an auto parts store brand. But would that make my dash lights and windows be dead?

You said you had a push button start wired up right? Did you check the wires to that and make sure your even turning the car on? No offense but always check everything If that isnt it then that is a strange problem man.

The button was the first thing i scowled at. I haven't had a chance to get in there and inspect any splices since the car's on the street somewhere and I'm at work, but I know from mechanics that stock ignition switches go bad often, and yield lots of crazy symptoms. I think you might be on the right track. Thanks
