Car died and won't start

last night i was at a stop light, and i took off in 1st, shifted at about 5k rpm into second... the car died

so i pulled into the parking lot, and now it wont start... any ideas

it's a 95 gst w/ 6bolt engine...

the starter is cranking the engine over, but it's just not starting. to me it seems like its not getting any gas. the sparkplugs were changed this last friday. oil was changed monday, and is still at the same level. it didnt over heat. and the timing belt is still intact, only has about 4k miles on it, if that.

i can hear the fuel pump, could it be the fuel filter? i dont know what else to check for

Try pulling a plug to check for spark. Is the motor turning really fast? The fuel line may be clogged (including Filter) so check the outlet on the filter.

i removed the timing belt cover, and turned the key, and i wouldnt say that it's turning really fast

ok, i just pulled the sparkplug wires (one at a time, hehe) and they're not firing... so next things to check would be the coilpack, and then the transistor pack... right?

a friend of mine has new coil pack that i'm going to try out tomorrow, he also has a transistor.. hopefully one of those will be the culprit, and not the CAS..

yes, there's gas in my car

i didn't know that gas, or lack there of, could be the cause of the coilpack not firing
