car died while idling

Ok so lastnight i was at a friends fixing her car. I left my car idle for light to work. i desided to turn on the brights for more light. my headlight stay on when I use my brights. So as im working on this other car with the brights on and my car idling, my car dies in about 10 20 mins. Went to start it back up and battery was dead. I got it jump started and it ran just fine. drove it about 35 mins home and still fine.


My question is what do I need to look for. Im going to test the alt charging output and put my new battery in. Is there anything else I should check out. My fuses are good nothing wrong in the fuse department.

Im thinking my alt is going bad and when i had the brights on it couldnt keep up on charging the battery and got over worked so thats why my car died

Sounds like your on the right track. That's where I'd be starting.

thats where i would start, also check all battery connections to make sure nothing loose...take it to advance auto parts, they will check your charging system for free

Since the placement of the alternator is directly next to the turbo, nice one mitsu, they go out all the time so it's of no surprise you're having a problem with it.

Bring the battery and alternator to autozone and have the check it out; they can test both in the car.
