Hey! My car was clicking but was not cranking, and it turned out to be the battery. I just changed the battery, and wanted to take a look at the radio, because it was not working. I removed it, and also the door panel (window was not going down so I wanted to take a look at the motor). Midway I stopped, I wanted to go somewhere to buy a new radio so I could install it. Turns out I couldn't start the car.

When I turn the keys, I hear a "click" sound, but no other signal of life. It can't be the battery because I literally changed it today. I don't even know where to start looking for the problem because I'm pretty newbie. Any tips/suggestions? Could I accidentally disconnected something when removing the radio? I checked but everything seemed in order.

Hey everyone! Sorry for the late reply. I removed the clutch switch and the car started. The issue is indeed with the clutch, I press it but it wont come back up. The clutch reservoir was 100% empty and I did not checked it when I bought it. I will refill it and bleed to check if the issue will be fixed. Thanks everyone for the help!
I just had that happen. I did the same thing replaced the battery. Still was a no start just click. I went to the starter relay behind the radio, jumped it and it cranked right over. Ordered a new relay and now it’s good to go.

Hey! I have 12v in the battery. I was not able to take a photo of the battery because it was already dark outside. Everything inside the car turns on thought.

I will check the relay behind the radio, its where I feel the “click” is coming from.

If your 95 is the same i am not sure: The diagram is actually backwards for my model (97 spyder gst). The starter relay is the left one. I attached the wiring schematic too, I bypassed the relay to test the starter. If it works it could be your clutch circuit or power to the other side of the relay or the relay. Lucky for me it was just my relay that died. If that doesn’t work and it just clicks it could be your starter, lines to starter or ground. Just some ideas for you. I literally just went through this all last week with my car with the help of people on here.

Yes, this drawing is wrong, the starter relay is the inboard one.

If you have an manual trans and the relay is clicking, it's breaking the connection to the starter solenoid. (the drawing shows that the relay contacts are normally closed)

The question is why, it shouldn't click, it's there first for safety to make sure the clutch is pushed in before starting, and second to keep the car from being stolen of you have the factory theft option.

I have not tested the relay yet, I will probably only be able to test it at night after work. My clutch pedal is very weird thought, it is going all the way down but doesn’t come back up on its own. I can "bypass" the clutch switch by simply unplugging it, right?

Also, yes, its a manual trans 94/95

There is suppose to be a spring under the dash that connects to the pedal to help it come back up. One time I looped it on the steering column rod and I hit the clutch and the steering column adjuster went all the way down on me
