Hello everyone,

I am having an issue with my car breaking up at high rpms. It usually starts to break up at around 5k and doesn't stop. The rpms will still go up but it will break up all the way through. I have uploaded a log and a video so you can see. If there is anything else you guys can think of let me know and I will try to post it right away. I need to figure this out asap.

Click here to see a video of what the car does and sounds like when it starts to break up.

I dont know what coils you are running, but you could check with a scope to see the coils are getting charged correctly. If the Ampere are not rising anymore before the coil fire, it is fully charged, if not find the culprit/raise dwell. You could also check that the igniter/coils have good +12v and earth. I once had a corroded fuse to my ignition and had problems with spark breakup. Cleaned contacts and replaced fuse. All fine.

Did u ever switch to non projected plugs? I suggest just swapping in some br7es tapped to 0.022-0.024

Well I did figure out the solution and it was today. I had my spark plugs gapped at .28 so I re gapped them to .26 and the car didn't break up anymore. I am also running the NGK BRP7ES.

5500. I do not have any way of monitoring FP currently. My fuel upgrades are rewired walbro 255 and RC 550s. Stock FPR isn't leaking. The weird thing is that when I test drove this car, it pulled at 20psi no problems and it was smooth. This was with boost leaks and exhaust leaks which I repaired. Throttle body needed every seal, exhaust manifold was leaking, and so was O2 housing to downpipe which only had 1 stud barely holding it on.

I would do a boost leak test first to make sure you don't have any current leaks. Also check your spark plugs and make sure they are not fouled out. While you're there check the gap on the spark plugs. Usually breaking up is something minor that you might have missed.
