Cant shift into 4th at high rpm.

I was driving the other day and some guy in a honda pulled up beside me to race so i slowed down to like 30mph and lined up and everthing the started i won the second i hit the gas but when i got to fourth gear i was at 5000rpm and it would go in so the next day i found a good road to test it on and found out that when im above 4000rmps it wont go into 4th gear but anything under 4000rmps it goes in just fine. I have an exedy racing clutch, ACT lightwieght flywheel and a new tranny all installed by pros. Any help would be great.(All other gears are fine)

Did a few more test and now it randomly happens. It happens like 25% of the time.

You can try turning the master cylinder rod towards the firewall about 2 times and see if that helps. I was thinkin it was a damaged/bent shift fork, but if its happening radomly i doubt that's the case also check your linkage

where does your clutch start grabbing when letting out the clutch pedal?

when it decides not to go in i have to slow down then it will go in, if i dont it wont go into 4th at all i could probably slam it into 4th but then something might break and i cant take that chance.

The clucth cachtes when i let the pedal about 1/3 of the way out.

It is possilbe that you have a air pocket still in the clutch line that is working it way down to the slave cylinder causing your problem. I woould also try adjusting your slave cylinder rod like some already suggested.

I would definitely try bleeding your clutch to start with and see what happens. It can't hurt, and a bottle of fluid is only a few bucks.

Your throwout bearing may be going out, at least thats the case with my car. I just bought a new clutch and put it in about 6 months ago. I hear a low squeal when the clutch is fully depressed, and I have a hard time upshifting at high rpms.

i had problems like that b4 .. and it was the trannys syncronizer (i dont know what you call it here in us ) .. try to shift it in a hi rev , rpm going up slowly .. and try it again . rpm going like ## racing .. compare .. if it doesnt go in during hi acceleration but has no problems in slow acc .. that might it ... if thats the case .. try replacing ## transmition oil ..
