Tried removing my stock struts in the front last night (rears were easy) and i cant get the end link nut to break free. Ive read that some have an allen key hole on the back-side (opposite of the nut im trying to loosen?), and some end links heads accept a 14mm wrench. Mine seem to not have either? NO allen key nor a spot to put a wrench. Im just spinning the nut, its so close to coming off, any tips without breaking it and having to buy a new one?

Also - Ive read you dont need to remove this to remove the bolt that holds the strut in the fork, i dont see how this is possible to fit a socket over that large bolt with the end link so close to it, seems impossible? Do i not need to touch the end link at all?

On all the ones I've seen you put an allen wrench in the end(the side that the nut is on). In the pics you've posted I don't see one. So either it's clogged with junk or it's an aftermarket replacement.

Some time the rubber boot slkps over the hold nut on the inside. Look harder. all else fails grab the inside behind the bar with vicegrips
Cool i think tahts what is happening, just wanted to get some thoughts before i dive back into it. Much appreciated! I dont think its seized as it came out super easy until the point its at now, seems likely that ill just need to hold the 14mm nut thats being covered by the boot and i should be good to go![DOUBLEPOST=1416086596][/DOUBLEPOST]End up getting this. But now i cannot figure out how to keep the strut shaft from spinning when im tryin to tighten the top nuts to 30ft-lbs. Someone recommended i hold the bottom nut with a wrench and torque the top to 30 but there is not near enough clearance to fit two wrenches on top of eachother or a socket. I tried wrapping a pair of pliers with a thick cloth and clamping as hard as i could while trying to tighten but no where near the holding power from that method, the shaft just spun. Any Thoughts? this is on the DG Koni coilover setup..
