hey everyone! having soooooooooooo much fun here! :thumbdown

Heres the deal. Driver side cv shaft on my 1g is gone and clicking. I got a new cv shaft for it. I have the castle nut off, take the 2 nuts/bolts off from the spindle/strut and it wont come off. It's like its rusted together. I have tried to drop the jack with a wheel on without the bolts being in and it wont dislodge. I'm skinny guy and no weight so me jumping on the car is not an option. It being this late and new years soon im sure no one local would want to help. I'm trying to think of any other ideas on my situation at hand. Prybar is not working either btw. I have used about a can of PB Blaster on this also. I don't know what to do! help!

i used a regular ratchet and a 2 foot bar over it with a wrench on the other side of the bolt and it came off. Just make sure your are using a 6 point socket so nothing gets stripped

I typically wedge a large flathead screwdriver between the strut and the steering knuckle and prise it off. If it doesn't come easily, a 2lb sledge on the end of the screwdriver works wonders. Just be sure you don't move the clamp around the strut that connects to the steering knuckle or you're gonna be seriously out of alignment when you put it all back together.

i just broke 3 flatheads :thumbdown damn!

When I say flathead screwdriver, I don't mean a wimpy little screwdriver - I mean one that's about 18" long and 1" in diameger :thumb:

Just keep tapping it with a hammer, the vibration might loosen it slowly. I would definitely realign it after this though.

one was wimpy

the other was larger, but broke :thumbdown

the last was the one i stuck in hole of the rotor to hold against the caliper to get the castle nut off. it was big.

Im still god damn clueless. Im about to drive it over railroad tracks 45 million times and I bet it still wont break loose!

got a mallet and really big mallet and whack away... do not use a sledge u could possible mushroom it, and u don't want that... or if u want something more solid go buy a small brass drift and use that and a sledge together... the bi*** will come out... make sure the soak those bolts good
