My friend just bought a 1991 GST with 131,000 miles, when we try to start the car you have to give gas to get it going and once you do get it started it idles like crazy you have to gas it to keep it from bogging out and stalling. It's smoking white smoke from the exhaust and the turbo. I thought it's maybe a headgasket so I checked the coolant and it's still nice and green with no signs of oil. The car has been sitting for 2 years do you guys think it stucked up some bad gas or something?

Check Timing Marks first (you shoulda changed T/Belt & Tensioner before you ever cranked it after a 2 year layup) - Check Compression - replace Fuel Filter - and it's quite possibly got a bad ECU also...

before he bought we checked the timing belt and it looked great, the previous owner said the compression was checked out and it was fine. Could it be a bad turbo? I would check it out asap but it's raining :thumbdown
