Alright guys if anyone could please direct me in the right direction it will be highly appreciated.

I have a 95 eagle talon tsi. Completely stock, HKS turbo timer (save the turbos!)

This is my second engine, the first one appeared to suffer from crankwalk after hitting 130mph for about 5mins then cruising home letting sit overnight then the next morning commute clunk clunk clunk 5 miles into the ride.

Well now with this engine I got off a 97 GST. I had them rebuilt the block there was horizontal play at the flywheel (oh crankwalk) well that got taken care off and the head had just been rebuilt. Well I have drove it about 10k miles no problems just a blown turbo, replaced it and 5k miles later clack, clack, after going 120mph max for about 5 mins again but this time is a bit different sound I don't know what it is, the sound comes from the top and around the middle. Could it be that I dropped some valves?? Balancer Shafts?? As soon as I notice something was wrong I pulled over and checked under the hood a bit of smoke came out from the driver side of the engine smelled like oil. I use royal purple synthetic old, always check water and oil before any drive and I even let it idle for a min or two to warm up. I have been trying to baby my car but it just fails. Please help me.

Please excuse me for the long thread. Thank You

Does the noise happen at a certain speed, rpm, or moon alignment? Any excess vibration that wasn't there before? Does the sound increase in speed proportionatly with rpms?

You should stop going over 100mph because it seems that your car doesn't like it very much ROFL

the turbo u put in is the same as the stock one or one with higher psi? might have pushed a bit too much into your stock engine

Before saying its the engine did you even see if the noise would go away with the clutch pushed in?
