toronto,
ok, so i went to turn on the car today, and click click click, is whjat i hear, i figured ok i dhad the trunk open for an hour yesterday changing the struts i killed the battery.
so i jump it, it starts, heres the thing. when the lights are in the off position, the lights are still on, the side markers are on, the back lights are on, everything comes on except the pop ups, they stay down.
even the gauge light lights up, which i know its not suppossed to.
now the cars dead again, and i think the car figures i left the lights on, when really i didnt.
any help?
i know this is a tricky one

When I bought my car, the high beams and cruise control didnt work. Then one day the regular headlights went out on me. It wasnt the under-dash fuses or the under-hood relay. It ended up being the whole switch assembly itself behind the steering wheel. I'm not sure if it would cause the problems you're having, but dont rule it out as a possibility. btw, it was $8 at the junk yard. good luck.

i should pull the fuse for the daytime running lights then?
i dont think you guys have those in the States actually, anyone know where it is, under the dash?
would a new lever be all i need to buy, i guess i'll know better when i tear it apart.
thanks

Oh, criminy, DRLs. Check in the engine compartment fuse/relay box, you may want to just pull the light relay out. In fact, it may be a bad relay.

I had a terrific time when DRLs first hit down here. I'd spend all day with the windows down, "Hey! Hey! Your LIGHTS are on!" It was like a dog snuffling the wind through the vent wing.

It's fun being simple.

LOL, thanks, I think.

whats the second position of the light called, it goes OFF, second position, headlights, HIGH beams.
whats the 2nd position refered to?

I believe the second position is refreed to as the running lights, but not positive
