Can't get a seal out of the Power Steering pump

I'm following this guide, and this seal just will not come out:

Here is mine: All the rubber crumbled out, and the metal part seems to be seized in there. I've been spraying it with pb blaster, putting vice grips on it, hammering it and it still won't budge. Any ideas? Should I try a small dremel cutting wheel or grind on it?

Did you try lightly tapping the end of the flathead with with a hammer (which I see you did...would help to have reading comprehension dohh)? I'd be wary of cutting but I suppose it would work if you were extra careful. I suppose you could use a small fine toothed hacksaw for more control, but I'd image it would take a while....

I could swear there's a tool for this.

If anything id try the dremel first but only until u can snap the ring then it might be able to flex out.

You could try hitting it with some heat from a torch and see if that doesn't help loosen it enough to be pried out. I can't quite tell from the picture, but if there is enough space to hook something under the metal seal, you might be able to use some type of bearing puller? I'm thinking of the two and three prong pullers that might be used for a wheel hub for example, but maybe there is something smaller out there that could be used in this situation?

Went to the pepboys a couple blocks from me to see if they had a tool, and the guy there popped it out for me with a hook / slide hammer thingy for free.
